How freezer storage can benefit your business
Freezer storage is used in many different settings. To mention a few examples, our storage freezers are often used in stockrooms in retail stores, in kitchens in the HoReCa industry and – a more recent trend – in food trucks in all shapes and sizes.
If you compare an upright storage freezer to a chest freezer, you will find that the upright model takes up less floor space. It is therefore a great choice for tight spaces and optimizing store space. In addition, many also find that the upright storage freezer with shelves provides a better overview of the products inside, making it easier and quicker to find the frozen ingredients or products, they are looking for.
Which features should you look for when choosing a storage freezer?
We have made a short check list for you to help you choose the best suited storage freezer for your business. Everything should of course be based on where you would like to place the unit and which purpose you need it for.
Storage capacity How much freezer storage do you need? We offer several different sizes, going from the smaller undercounter freezers to the larger freezers with gastronorm measurements. The smaller models are great for utilizing the space available, making every inch count. This could be behind the counter in a food truck or sandwich shop. The larger models with gastronorm measurements are on the other hand ideal for use in professional kitchens.
Temperature control Cooling systems might not be an interesting feature for most people, but it is one of the most important elements to look at when choosing a storage freezer. If you run a busy kitchen where the door of the freezer is frequently opened and closed, you should go with a model with ventilated cooling. This will keep your frozen ingredients at the right temperature until the time you need them. With ventilated cooling you also get the added benefits of adjustable shelving and automatic defrost. If you have a storage freezer for extra stock, you could go for a model with static cooling and fixed freezing shelves. The evaporator coils are integrated into the shelves and will keep a steady temperature from top to bottom, as long as the door is not opened and closed all the time. The great benefit of a storage freezer with static cooling is that it tends to have a lower energy consumption compared to a corresponding model with ventilated cooling.
